Do you want to start making money from it?
There are many companies out there that would like YOU to advertise their products/offers on your site and pay you for it. Google adsense happens to be the most popular, but you get no say in who advertises and what they are selling.
I joined up with a few programs that let YOU pick the companies that you want to advertise. Mine happen to be mostly companies with coupons, or surveys, or products for moms and children. I try to stick with those since my readers are people who want those things.
So if you blog about having or starting a business, you'd search for companies that provide products your readers (and you) might like.
These companies provide you with HTML for you, and they have lots of banners or text to choose from. If you are wondering how you get paid, well, each promotions has a specification on it: ie $1.50 a lead (which means customer email submit or registration), 20% a sale, or $.10 a click.
Now, good revenue only comes from sites with good content, consistent posting, and regular readers. If you keep up on all three of those, you'll see better results. And don't forget to PROMOTE! Twitter, Facebook, and MySpace are some good places just to name a few. Most forums allow you to place links in your signature (don't forget your email siggy too)...what a better way to "plug" your site! Visit other blogs and comment on their posts. You can enter your contact info (which usually includes a spot for your website url as well) into most comments, or if your use Blogger, it will automatically enter it in.
You can even utilize Business Cards to your advantage by customizing them with a logo and your blog url. Hand them to anyone and place them anywhere (but don't litter or annoy people...that would be bad).
